CNC Software: Your Solution for Precision Manufacturing

CNC software is a crucial component of any modern manufacturing solution. It enables the programming, control and monitoring of CNC machines to ensure efficient and precise material processing. At BZT Maschinenbau, we offer you a selection of highly developed CNC software solutions, specifically tailored to the needs of businesses in various industries.

What to Look for When Buying CNC Software

When selecting the right CNC software, several factors must be considered. Firstly, compatibility with existing machines and controls is of critical importance. Ensure that the software harmonises well with both your hardware and the specific requirements of your applications.

Another important aspect is the user-friendliness of the software. An intuitive user interface can significantly reduce training time and increase the efficiency of your workflows. Additionally, the software should feature extensive functions for machining optimisation, simulation and error diagnosis in order to maximise productivity.

Quality and Support from BZT

BZT CNC software stands for the highest quality and reliability. We place great emphasis on offering our customers not only first-class products, but also comprehensive support and training so that you can fully exploit the potential of your software. Trust in BZT to take your manufacturing processes to the next level.

Frequently asked questions about CNC software

Answers about control software, CAD/CAM and compatibility

What CNC software do I need for a BZT portal milling machine?

For BZT CNC portal milling machines, we recommend our own BZT CNC Software V.5 — a full-featured CNC control software with integrated editor, tool management and real-time display. Alternatively, our machines are compatible with WinPC-NC, Mach3/4 and LinuxCNC. For CAD/CAM design, we offer Vectric Cut2D (2D machining) and CADasCAM (2D + 2.5D). The choice depends on your applications — for pure 2D work, Cut2D is sufficient; for more complex parts, we recommend CADasCAM.

What is the difference between CAD/CAM software and CNC control software?

CAD/CAM software (e.g. CADasCAM, Vectric Cut2D) is used for design and toolpath calculation: you design your workpiece, set milling parameters and generate the G-code. The CNC control software (e.g. BZT CNC Software V.5) reads this G-code and uses it to control the axes of the CNC portal milling machine in real time. For the complete workflow you need both — first CAD/CAM for designing, then the control software for milling.

Can I use my existing CNC software with BZT machines?

Yes, BZT portal milling machines work with G-Code as standard and are therefore compatible with all common CAM programs — including Fusion 360, Estlcam, VCarve, RhinoCAM and many others. The BZT controllers support standardised interfaces (USB, LAN). We will be happy to advise you on the optimal software combination for your application.

Who is Vectric Cut2D suitable for?

Vectric Cut2D is ideal for users who primarily mill 2D contours — such as signs, letters, circuit board outlines or cut-outs from wood and plastic. The software offers an intuitive user interface and generates directly optimised toolpaths. For 3D machining or more complex 2.5D parts (pockets, steps, engravings), we recommend upgrading to CADasCAM or Fusion 360.

Does BZT offer training for the CNC software?

Yes, BZT offers individual instruction and training for both the BZT CNC Software V.5 and the machine control system. This can take place on site in Leopoldshöhe near Bielefeld or remotely via remote maintenance. In addition, you will receive comprehensive documentation and video tutorials. If you have any questions, our technical support team is available by telephone and email.
