Frequently asked questions about the CNC series comparison

Find the right BZT CNC portal milling machine for your application

Which BZT series is suitable for beginners?

For getting started we recommend the PF series (travel 290–905 × 490–1495 mm) or the PFK series (340–750 × 260–1680 mm). Both handle wood, plastics and acrylic; the PFK additionally machines aluminium. If space is tight, the PFI bench mill is ideal (515 × 300 mm).

What is the difference between PFE and PFU?

The PFE series offers travels of 720–1205 × 525–1550 mm and works as a professional entry point for wood, plastics, composites and aluminium. The PFU series goes considerably further at 1020–2020 × 970–4010 mm and is the all-round machine for trades and industry. For long workpieces, choose the PFU.

Which BZT series has the largest travel ranges?

The largest overall travel is offered by the PFA series at up to 2050 × 6050 mm. Along the X axis the PFS series reaches furthest at up to 6000 mm, though with a narrow Y axis (250–750 mm) — it is designed for long profiles. The PFB series (approx. 1800 × 3350 × 850 mm) is the 5-axis heavy-duty machine and scales for large-part production. The PFR series is available for special solutions.

Can I also machine aluminium and steel with a BZT milling machine?

Aluminium is handled even by the compact series: PFK, PFI, PFE, PFU, PFA, PFS and PFB list aluminium among their materials. For steel, the PFH series is the right choice — it is the only series whose data sheet lists steel and stainless steel. Alongside machine rigidity, the right HF spindle and correct cutting data are decisive.

How many BZT series and variants are there?

BZT offers 17 series with more than 100 variants — from the compact bench mill (PFI, 515 × 300 mm) to the large-format machine (PFA, up to 2050 × 6050 mm). The series fall into four categories: Beginners & Education, Trades & Industry, Industrial and Special Solutions.
