Cyclone Separators for CNC Routers — Cleaner Workshop, Longer Filter Life

Anyone working with a CNC portal router knows the problem: wood and plastic chips clog vacuum cleaner filters in no time. A cyclone separator removes over 95% of the material through centrifugal force before it reaches the filter — saving filter bags and significantly maintaining suction power.

BZT Cyclone Dust Separators

Our in-house developed cyclone dust separators are available in three sizes: 20 litres (from €63.78) for compact routers, 30 litres (from €73.03) as an all-round solution, and 60 litres (from €110.50) for continuous operation on larger machines. Each separator is supplied with hose connections and seals and can be connected to standard workshop and industrial vacuum cleaners.

Kärcher Cyclone Vacuum Cleaners — Complete Systems

For a ready-to-use extraction solution, we offer Kärcher cyclone vacuum cleaners as complete systems with an integrated cyclone and collection container. Available in 20, 30 and 60 litres — simply connect and start routing. Ideal for users seeking a professional solution without the need for assembly.

Dust Deputy and Dust Officer

As an alternative, we stock the Dust Deputy (from €155 in plastic, from €451 in steel) and the compact Dust Officer (from €34) for smaller workshops. Both systems can be flexibly combined with existing vacuum cleaners.

Choosing the Right Size

As a rule of thumb: the larger the router and the longer the machining times, the larger the separator required. For machines up to PFK size, 20 litres are sufficient. From the PFE series onwards, we recommend at least 30 litres. For PFU-S, PFH or PFG-S machines, the 60-litre separator is the right choice. You will find further accessories such as lubricants, clamping devices and tool holders in our CNC accessories range.

Frequently asked questions about cyclone separators

Answers on extraction technology and dust separation

What size cyclone separator do I need?

As a rule of thumb: 20 litres are sufficient for compact routers up to PFK size and short machining times. 30 litres are the all-round recommendation for PFE and PFU machines. For large machines (PFU-S, PFH, PFG-S) or continuous operation, we recommend the 60-litre separator. When in doubt, it is better to go one size larger — a larger container needs to be emptied less frequently.

Can I connect the cyclone separator to my existing vacuum cleaner?

Yes, our BZT cyclone dust separators can be connected to any standard workshop or industrial vacuum cleaner. The hose connections and seals are included in the scope of delivery. Alternatively, we offer Kärcher cyclone vacuum cleaners as complete systems — these are ready for immediate use and do not require a separate vacuum cleaner.

How much dust does a cyclone separator remove?

A properly dimensioned cyclone separates over 95% of chips and dust by centrifugal force before they reach the vacuum filter. This significantly extends filter service life, saves filter bags, and maintains full suction power over long operating periods. A cyclone separator is almost indispensable, especially when machining wood and plastics with a CNC portal milling machine.

What is the difference between the BZT cyclone, Dust Deputy and Dust Officer?

The BZT cyclone dust separator (from €63.78) is our own development in three sizes — the best value for money for CNC users. The Dust Deputy (from €155 in plastic, from €451 in steel) is a US brand product with a particularly robust design. The Dust Officer (from €34) is the most compact solution for small workshops and occasional use.
