BZT Maschinenbau GmbH is a leading German manufacturer of CNC portal milling machines, headquartered in Leopoldshöhe near Bielefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia. Since our founding in 2006 by André Bothur, we have delivered over 4,100 CNC machines to customers in 62 countries worldwide — from hobbyist workshops to industrial production facilities.

With a team of more than 40 dedicated employees, we design, manufacture, and assemble every machine in-house at our German production facility. Our product range spans 15 distinct machine series with over 120 configuration variants, ensuring that every customer — from the ambitious maker to the professional manufacturer — finds the ideal CNC solution for their application.

Our History

BZT Maschinenbau has grown steadily from a bold vision into one of Germany’s most respected CNC machine manufacturers:

• 2005 — André Bothur begins developing the first BZT CNC portal milling machine prototypes, combining his passion for precision engineering with a vision for individually configurable machines.
• 2006 — BZT Maschinenbau GmbH is officially founded in Leopoldshöhe. The first series machines leave the workshop, quickly gaining recognition for their build quality and value.
• 2008–2010 — The product range expands to include multiple series targeting different user groups. International shipments begin as word-of-mouth spreads across European maker communities.
• 2012–2015 — BZT surpasses 1,000 machines delivered. The company moves to a larger production facility and invests in modern CNC manufacturing equipment for in-house component production.
• 2016–2019 — Expansion into global markets with deliveries now reaching over 40 countries. New industrial-grade series are introduced for professional manufacturing environments. The team grows to 30+ employees.
• 2020–2022 — Despite global supply chain challenges, BZT maintains production continuity thanks to deep supplier relationships and local manufacturing. The 3,000th machine is delivered.
• 2023–2024 — BZT reaches the milestone of 4,100+ machines delivered to 62 countries. The workforce expands to over 40 employees. New machine series and accessories continue to be developed, keeping BZT at the forefront of CNC portal milling innovation.

Manufacturing Excellence

Every BZT CNC machine is manufactured entirely in Germany at our Leopoldshöhe facility. We control the complete production chain — from raw material processing through precision machining, assembly, and final quality testing.
